Maybe? :|a I haven't gotten to see what the regular BD includes. Maybe the postcards of the main image/the Luscinia and Alauda one? Or maybe limited just meant "early" lol.

I'm getting my BD ... soon! The BD itself goes on sale on April 20th, but I got the limited one sold at the movies from an auction. I'll have a post up for it when I get it with changes and screencaps and stuff!

From what I am reading, a couple of things I can near confirm is that the movie is more from Millia's POV (so I assume a lot more dialogue being her), the movie might do a good job of kind of threading the story together better? And Al, Claus and Lavie appear to be cut from the omnibus completely.
Claus and Lavie not being in it makes sense, but removing Alvis seems a little odd. Especially considering the scene she's in where Millia learns Liliana must still be alive through meeting her, and having the Exile inheritance cycle explained.

Do you know if there is any new music? That's one of the things I love most about omnibus movies.

I'm bummed that the original cast (Claus, Lavie Al, etc) are cut from the film but it makes sense considering they were ill-used in the Fam series. Their presence just kinda stuck out as being random.

Honestly if I were Gonzo I would've gone with an omnibus of the original series over Fam, but since moe sells the most in Japan these days I guess I shouldn't be too shocked that they chose to revive Fam instead.

EEEE THANK YOU TARA!!! You're the best! I'm amused to see how far they went to erase Alvis from the omnibus, your caps were pretty amusing in showing that difference. This is a lot of work on your end and the LE fandom thanks you a lot for it, great work!

Thanks for the review!

However… it seems like too many things are missing, if compared to the original series.
So, I can't decide if it's worth buying the BD.

TBH I would have preferred a remake of Lastexile Fam to have an extended version with additional content instead of an omnibus movie (like, going from 21 to 26 episodes adding new material), but that’s just me.

You're welcome! I'M ALWAYS HERE TO SERVE I'm just sad I can't rip the BD for everyone. :( Like, literally since my computer doesn't have a BD player, it doesn't read, the drive it's in locks up when I have it in so I can't even access it. But I know BDs are hard as hell in that regard. That said, I may cave and order the DVD version for the 4/20 releases just in case the movie is too low key for someone to rip right away. And you can't record or even take screencaps on a PS3/4 when you have one playing, so. :?

I can kind of get why they'd cut Alvis completely though in maybe trying to focus on the other sides of the storyline, and the time constraints in doing even that, much less giving any kind of in depth focus on the other things. Still, the fact that they still made Dio a player was funny in that regard with their total edits. Suddenly no Al in his vanship, MAGICAL DISAPPEARING LOLI.

I think they did an ok job keeping their focus straight on what to focus on. I mean, if you consider Millia the "star" of the movie, it makes sense to cut out things like Alvis/Claus/Lavie, Fam's storyline and background with Sadri, and other things that weren't directly connected to her. Given the length of the movie and what they had to do, it wasn't too bad looking at it from that angle. Otherwise yeah, a lot of small things I loved were cut. Though I do hope their big changes of the end (ala the Luscinia stuff) make a difference in terms of the plot/storytelling since that was something completely changed up. But until the movie is online somewhere we won't know for sure.

That said yeah idk if i would say it's worth a buy as a BD. I think the DVD release in April is a little cheaper, so just to have it, maybe go that route. But I wouldn't call it a must have immediately type of thing (despite my own MUST HAVE IT IMMEDIATELY adventure...)

Because aside from the movie itself and all opinions on it, the booklet available is all of the BD booklets put together into one, which are online already - though it's a nice thing to have. And the BD I have from the theatrical release has the trailer and a few short CMs that aired in Japan to promote it, that's all. I was hoping for a textless version of the ending after seeing it, but alas. But hey, maybe they will end up adding it to the public release.

I would have loved something like a bigger additional content, too, tbh. But since they did this, who knows if it's the last new thing. I know it's not likely, but. I DREAM, I DREAM!!!! (just like I still dream for a 1/8 Dio figure from Fam)

Well, if they narrowed their focus to give Millia the central role and put Fam’s character into the right perspective then that’s fine.
Actually I think that if they had named the second season “Last Exile Over the Wishes” instead of “Fam the Silver Wing” there would have been less complaint about Fam’s development as a character and the feeling of wasted potential.
But… meh, they cut Al, which I didn’t expect!
They changed the end!? Now I wonder... don't tell me Luscinia survived! What about the five generals? Is Vasant still alive? And Sadri?

I’m usually the MUST-HAVE-IT fan when it comes to LE but I’ve not placed my order yet. At the moment there’s another anime that got me hooked so I’ll save money for this BD later… besides, I already have the DVDs and the booklets of the anime series :D

What I would like to see… well…
- a “Before Exile” OAV on the events before the first season….
- an OAV to bridge the first and the second season...
- a remake/extended version of the second season with an improved plot.
It won't happen though...

Everyone who died is still dead! Luscinia's ending was very different though. He places Sara in a pod-like thing, has a pretty lengthy speech to her (she's unconscious) and that's that. The pod flashes to alert Fam and Giselle to her, so they don't end up meeting with Luscinia at all. He has one other scene after that with some final words (spoken to himself) as he waits as the Grand Exile crashes.

Also a proper release of the three dramas the seiyuu performed at the LENight events would be great too. :( I'd want a manga or a short, but that's reaching way too high considering we never even properly got those dramas! At least two of the dramas are a little on the backstory side (the Dio and Lucciola ones)

But yes +1 to all of that, I want more Last Exiiiiiiiiiiiiiiile.
